Seasonal Fare of the Bold North
Chowgirls Killer Catering is a 100% women-owned, award-winning Minneapolis catering company.
Chowgirls Killer Catering focuses on fresh ingredients from our local farmers, reflecting the tastes of each season and staying true to our values, resources, and Midwest regional roots. Our commitment to seasonality and our expertise in both old-world and on-trend cooking guarantees the best dining experience for our clients. To quote one happy customer, “it’s not just good catered food, it’s good food food.”
Our thoughtful style of hospitality facilitates approachable, inspired, interactive, and fun events. We believe the most memorable celebrations are those treated with love and care, whether we’re feeding 20 or 2000 guests, whether it’s a casual tailgate party or an elaborate corporate event. Our curated team of chefs, event specialists, and support staff reflects the best of the Bold North hospitality industry.
In the fall of 2016 we published a bestselling cookbook, Chowgirls Killer Party Food. We’re thrilled to have our cherished recipes accessible to home cooks and sold in bookstores around the country. In addition to a national cookbook tour, co-owners Amy and Heidi have been featured in O Magazine and on Oprah’s website. They’ve cooked on TV in Minneapolis, at WGN Chicago, CBS Los Angeles, and Fox New York. In January, the Detroit Free Press featured Chowgirls Killer Party Food — and some of the recipes within it — tagged with the headline “Take Your Super Bowl Food to the Next Level.”
Sustainable practices shape everything we do, from our food values to our use of local, organic, and fair trade ingredients. The result is a business that practices what we preach, and higher quality, fresh, and locally sourced food, crafted with respect for the environment. 97% of our waste is diverted from landfill or incineration to commercial composting and recycling.
For more than 13 years, Chowgirls has grown our business in Northeast Minneapolis. We take pride in building community wherever we go — from our staff volunteer program to philanthropic donations of our time, service, and food to organizations like Sheridan Story, Girls on the Run, Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market, and Minneapolis Public Schools’ True Food Chef Council. Chowgirls has a passion for issues related to food sustainability, hunger relief, and the empowerment of women and children. From the start, we’ve been great supporters of local art and are proud to be the exclusive caterer to Northeast Arts District. Our close community relationships are the result of shared values and mutual appreciation of good, handcrafted food, and a commitment to sustainability, culture and beauty.
